October 2008 ALS Accreditation & Equivalency Test Passers


The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) announced yesterday that 1,317 out of 3,552 examinees passed the Electrical Engineer Licensure Examinations given by the Board of Electrical Engineering in the cities of Manila, Baguio, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, Legazpi, and Zamboanga this month.

The Top 10 examinees in the Registered Electrical Engineer Licensure Examination are:

Jeffrey de Vera Cabigting, Technological Institute of the Philippines- Manila, and Elmer Batang Tattao, Cagayan State University-Tuguegarao, 88.70 percent; Richard Cruzada Peñamante, Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila, 87.60; Cherry Bose Bañez, St. Louis University, 86.70; Mark Anthony Lara Catalan, Mindanao State University- Marawi City, 86.60.

Bryan Basila Navarro, Technological Institute of the Philippines-Quezon City, and Michael Balbuena Purino, Batangas State University-Batangas City, 86.30;

Dave Jimino Pojadas, Central Visayas State CAFT-Tagbilaran, 86.15; Tristan Jake Cardona Dalangin, Batangas State University-Batangas City, and Valfia Sueno Uy, University of Nueva Caceres, 86; Joel Aparecio Ceriales, Mindanao Polytechnic State College (DMMMPSC) 85.70; Jon Rick Lim Lo Chiong, St. Louis University, 85.50; and Georg Fredrich Andres Aguinaldo, St. Louis University, 85.45.

Meanwhile, the Top 8 examinees in the Registered Master Electrician Licensure Examination are:

Elesio Bayer Arces, Feati University, 83.50 percent; Reynald Verano Cabug, Bicol University- Legazpi, 83; Pee Jay Nicolas Gealone, Bicol University-Legazpi, 82.50; Reny Blaza Verenio, Secondary School, 82; Ernell Camus Obina, Camarines Norte State College-Daet, 81.50;

Eddy Jose Yaba Managuit, Camarines Norte State College-Daet, 81; Kenneth Bryan Flores Abaigar, University of Eastern Philippines-Catarman, Ricardo Camia Alarcon, Manuel L. Quezon University, and Franklin Rey Tagud Mayuman, Central Visayas State CAFT-Tagbilaran, 80.50; and Rechab Tianchon Cabalfin, Western Institute of Technology, Rychie Bacsarsa Olango, St. Joseph Institute of Technology, Gonzalo JR Guatno Ong, Ramon Magsaysay Technological University-Iba, Glenn Mark de Luna Porlaje, Bicol UniversityLegazpi, and Abe Aglawan Sabuca-a, Mindanao State University-Iligan Institute of Technology, 80.

The top performing schools (with at least 80 percent passing percentage) in the Registered Electrical Engineer Licensure Examination are:

— With 10-25 examinees:

Mindanao Polytechnic State College (DMMMPSC), 16 of 17, 94 percent; Mindanao State University-Marawi City, 14 of 15, 93 percent; and Silliman University, 9 of 10, 90 percent.

— With 26-50 examinees:

University of the Philippines-Los Baños, 33 of 33, 100 percent.

The top performing school (with at least 80 percent passing percentage) in the Registered Master Electrician Licensure Examination is:

Camarines Norte State College-Daet, 10 of 11, 91 percent.

On the Board of Electrical Engineering which gave the licensure examinations are Engr. Rodolfo R. Peñalosa, chairman; and Engineers Edward L. Mendoza and Jaime V. Mendoza, members.

Registration for the issuance of Professional Identification Card (ID) and Certificate of Registration will start on Friday, Sept. 26, but not later than Oct. 24.

The oathtaking ceremony of the examinees will be held before the board on Wednesday, Nov. 5, coinciding with the Institute of Integrated Electrical Engineers of the Philippines (IIEE) national convention, at 1 p.m. at the SMX Convention Center, Mall of Asia, Pasay City.

Registration for membership with the IIEE will start on Sept. 26, as mandated by law, under Resolution No. 36, Series of 2003.

The IIEE is the only electrical professional association accredited by the PRC.
