October 2008 ALS Accreditation & Equivalency Test Passers


The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) announced last night that 1,513 out of 2,506 passed the Physician (Complete, Prelims, and Finals with Prelims) Licensure Examination given by the Board of Medicine in the cities of Manila, Cebu, and Davao this month.

The top 10 examinees are:

Marlon Diaz Garcia, Far Eastern University-Nicanor Reyes Medical Foundation, 88.75 percent; Dave Anthony Pasetes Diomampo, St. Louis University, 88.17; Gentry George Teng King, University of Sto. Tomas, and Janice Jill Keng Lao, University of the Philippines-Manila, 87.42; Nemencio Jr. Reyes Ronquillo, University of the Philippines- Manila, and Paolo Potato Villanueva, University of Sto. Tomas, 87.17; Allan Louie Espino Cruz, University of Sto. Tomas, 86.92;

Philip Blanco Antiporta, University of Sto. Tomas, 86.58; Ma. Cristina dela Cruz Briones, University of Sto. Tomas, 86.42; Lemuel Benedict Robleza Non, University of the Philippines- Manila, and Sheila Jane Tan Zanoria, Cebu Institute of Medicine, 86.17; Angela Sacayan Apostol, University of the East-Ramon Magsaysay Memorial Medical Center, and Karel Ann Alipasa Espejo, University of the Philippines-Manila. 86.08; and Grace Ann Mariano Nicolas, University of Sto. Tomas, 86.

On the Board of Medicine which gave the licensure examination are Dr. Florentino C. Doble, chairman; and Dr. Edgardo T. Fernando, Dr. Ricardo D. Fulgencio II, Dr. Miguel L. Noche Jr., and Dr. Restituto C. de Ocampo, members.

Registration for the issuance of Professional Identification Card (ID) and Certificate of Registration will start on Aug. 28 but not later than Sept. 5.

The oathtaking ceremony of the examinees will be held before the Board on Sunday, Sept. 14, at 1:30 a.m. at the Plenary Hall of the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC), Roxas Blvd., Pasay City.

Registration for membership with the Philippine Medical Association (PMA) will start on Aug. 28.

The top performing schools in the August 2008 Physician Licensure Examination are:

— With 100 or more examinees:

University of the Philippines- Manila, 144 of 147, 98 percent; University of Sto. Tomas, 245 of 259, 95 percent; and Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila, 93 of 104, 89 percent.

— With 50 to 99 examinees

Cebu Institute of Medicine, 56 of 56, 100 percent; and West Visayas State University-La Paz, 71 of 82, 87 percent.
