The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) yesterday announced that 1,514 out of 4,174 passed the Professional Electronics Engineer and Electronics Engineer Licensure Examination given by the Board of Electronics Engineering in the cities of Manila, Baguio, Cagayan de Oro, Cebu, Iloilo and Lucena this October.
The successful examinees who garnered the ten highest places in the electronics engineer licensure examination are the following:
Ferdinand Matutino Sanchez, Technological Institute of the Philippines- Quezon City, 91.10 percent; Kristoffer Sy Laiz, Ateneo de Naga, 90.30; Roy Andrew Manqueria Garcia, Divine Word College of Calapan, 90.20; Leda Celica Bautista Samin, Wesleyan University Philippines-Cabanatuan City, 90.20; Don Joven Ravoy Agravante, University of San Carlos, 90.00; Kenneth Aldrin Opis Prudencio, Polytechnic University of the Philippines main-Sta. Mesa, 90.00; Jefril Manongsong Amboy, Batangas State University-Batangas City, 89.90; Rigor Lancion Cabuñag, PUP-main Sta. Mesa, 89.80; Jason Marc Almirol Alegado, University of San Carlos, 89.60; Mark Joseph Bernabe Pe, University of the East Caloocan, 89.00; Edison Dimaala de Lara, PUP main-Sta. Mesa, 88.90; Eleanor Anne Basa Tiglao, Holy Angel University, 88.90; Chester de Vera Parayno, Saint Louis University, 88.70; and Ryan de Leon Rivera, PUP main Sta. Mesa, 88.70.
On the Board of Electronics Engineering are Engr. Sylvia IcasianoMarcelo, chairwoman; Engr. Nestor C. Dacanay and Engr. Joel B. Bajador, members.
Registration for the issuance of Professional Identification Card (ID) and Certificate of Registration will start on Thursday, Nov. 6, 2008 but not later than Nov. 18, 2008. Successful examinees should personally register and sign in the Roster of Registered Professionals.
The oathtaking ceremony of the successful examinees in the said examination as well as the previous ones who have not taken their Oath of Professional will be held before the Board in Manila on Sunday, Nov. 23, 2008 at 1:30 p.m. at the Reception Hall, Philippine International Convention Center (PICC), Roxas Blvd., Manila; in Cebu City on Saturday, Nov. 29, 2008 at 1 p.m. at the Casino Español de Cebu, Ranulo St., Cebu City; in Davao on Friday, Dec. 5, 2008; and in Cagayan de Oro on Sunday, Dec. 14, 2008. Further details will be announced later.
Registration for membership with the Institute of Electronics and Communications Engineers of the Philippines (IECEP) will start on Thursday, Nov. 6, 2008.
The top performing schools in the October 2008 Electronics Engineer Licensure Examination classified as follows are:
A. With 100 or more examinees
1. Saint Louis University, with 83 out of 174 total number of examinees passed, or 48 percent.
Technological University of the Philippines – Manila, 48 out of 100 examinees passed,or 48 percent.
2. Polytechnic University of the Philippines – main – Sta. Mesa, 73 out of 154 examinees passed, or 47 percent.
3. Bulacan State University (Bulacan College of Arts and Trades, 53 out of 131 examinees passed, or 40 percent.
B. With 50-99 examinees
1. University of Santo Tomas, 72 out of 93 examinees passed, or 77 percent.
2. Holy Angel University, 43 out of 69 examinees passed, or 62 percent.
3. Batangas State University - Batangas City, 35 out of 57 examinees passed, or 61 percent.
C. With 20-49 examinees
1. Mindanao State University-Iligan Institute of Technology, 25 out of 30 examinees passed, or 83 percent.
2. University of the Philippines-Diliman, 27 out of 36 examinees, or 75 percent.
3. Ateneo de Manila University-Quezon City, 24 out of 33 examinees, or 73 percent.
