The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) announced yesterday that 1,672 out of 4,831 passed the Civil Engineer Licensure Examination given by the Board of Civil Engineering in the cities of Manila, Baguio, Cagayan de Oro, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, Legazpi, and Tacloban this month.

The top 10 examinees are:

Maricel dela Cruz Aquino, University of the Philippines-Los Baños, 99.10 percent;

Serg Jason Modequillo Bodiongan, Mindanao State University-Iligan Institute of Technology, Ma. On the Board of Civil Engineering which gave the licensure exam are Engr. Apollo S. Enriquez, officer-in-charge; and Engr. Roberto P. Bernardo, member.

Registration for the issuance of Professional Identification Card (ID) and Certificate of Registration will start on Thursday, Dec. 4, but not later than Dec. 16.

The oathtaking ceremony of the examinees will be held before the Board on Dec. 20, 1:30 p.m., at the Plenary Hall of the Philippine International Convention Center in Pasay City.

Registration for membership with the Philippine Institute of Civil Engineers Inc. will start on Dec. 4.

The top performing schools (with 10 or more examinees) in the November 2008 Civil Engineer Licensure Examination are University of the Philippines-Los Baños, 28 of 28, 100 percent, University of the Philippines-Diliman, 35 of 36, 97 percent, and Ateneo de Naga, 9 of 11, 82 percent.

Meanwhile, the PRC said that 22 passed the Professional Electronics Engineer Examination given by the Board of Electronics Engineering in Manila this month.

On the Board of Electronics Engineering which gave the exam are Engr. Sylvia Icasiano-Marcelo, chairman; and Engr. Nestor C. Dacanay and Engr. Joel B. Bajador, members.
