October 2008 ALS Accreditation & Equivalency Test Passers


The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) announced yesterday that 227 out of 481 passed the Chemist Licensure Examination given by the Board of Chemistry in Manila this September, 2008.

The successful examinees who garnered the 10 highest places are the following:

Joseph De Castro Unsay, Ateneo De Manila University Q.C., 88.25; Thomas Ponce Corpuz Reyes, University of the Philippines-Diliman, 87.00; Joshua Juni Suico, UP-Manila, 86.75; Marlena Joy Gandola Barker, Central Philippine University, 86.50; Mahalia Adelina Corazon Paningbatan Serrano, UP-Los Baños, 86.25;

Ralph Julius Ligaya Mendoza, UP-Manila, 85.75; Xyza Jane Siñel Templonuevo, University of Santo Tomas, 85.25; Anjelyn Bernal Del Rosario, UP-Manila, 85.00; Ryan Joseph Aniago, Polytechnic University of the Philippines-Main, Sta. Mesa, 84.75; and Camille Dullavin Malonzo, UP Diliman, 84.50.

On the Board of Chemistry which gave the examinations are Ms. Adoracion P. Resurreccion, Chairwoman and Ms. Soledad S. Castañeda, Member.

Registration for the issuance of Professional Identification Card (ID) and Certificate of Registration will start on Tuesday, September 16, 2008 but not later than September 30, 2008. Those who will register are required to bring the following: duly accomplished Oath Form or Panunumpa ng Propesyonal, current Community Tax Certificate (cedula), 2 pieces passport size picture (colored with white background and complete nametag), 1 piece 1″ x 1″ picture (colored with white background and complete nametag), 2 sets of metered documentary stamps, and 1 short brown envelope with name and profession; and to pay the Initial Registration Fee of P600 and Annual Registration Fee of P450 for 2008- 2011. Successful examinees should personally register and sign in the Roster of Registered Professionals.

The oathtaking ceremony of the successful examinees in the said examination as well as the previous ones who have not taken their Oath of Professional will be held before the Board on Monday, October 6, 2008 at 1:00 o’clock in the afternoon at the Centennial Hall of the Manila Hotel, One Rizal Park, Roxas Boulevard, Manila.

Registration for membership with the Integrated Chemists of the Philippines (ICP) will also start on Tuesday, September 16, 2008.

The top performing schools (with 5 or more examinees) in the September 2008 Chemist Licensure Examination are as follows: 1. Ateneo De Manila University – Q.C. 10 out of 11 passed or 91.00 %; 2. University of San Carlos, 8 out of 9 passed, or 89%; 3. University of the Philippines – Los Baños 26 out of 30 passed, or 87.00%.
