8,580 new teachers pass licensure
examinations
The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) announced yesterday that 4,875
elementary teachers out of 18,386 examinees and 3,705 secondary teachers out
of 14,767 examinees successfully passed the Licensure Examination for Teachers
(L.E.T) given by the Board for Professional Teachers on April 6, 2008 in 14
testing centers all over the Philippines and one testing center in Hong Kong.
The successful examinees who garnered the 10 highest places are the following:
Elementary level
1. Genevive Karen Belarde Dumayas, University of the Philippines-Diliman,
90.60; 2. Benjelita Laguidong Batao, University of Mindanao-Davao City, 90.20;
3. Jennifer Montenegro, University of the Philippines-Diliman, 89.80; 4. Jenny
Maddawat Cuyahon, University of Baguio, 89.40; 5. May Dugan Dolom, Philippine
Christian University-Manila, 88.80; 6. Jessie Trazo Auxilio, Bohol Institute
of Technology-Talibon and Jeziel Cortado Romuar, University of the
Philippines-Diliman, 88.60; 7. Marian Rosas Agunias, University of the
Philippines-Diliman, 88.20; 8. Denmark Lanotes Yonson, Philippine Normal
University-Cadiz City, 87.60; 9. Bianca Ninez dela Cruz de Leon, University of

On the Board for Professional Teachers which gave the examinations are Dr.
Gloria G. Salandanan, chairperson; Dr. Josefina T. Cunanan, vice chairperson;
and Dr. Brenda B. Corpuz, Dr. Flordeliza P. Mayari, and Dr. Norma A. Adamos,
members.
The result of examination with respect to one examinee was withheld pending
final determination of his liabilities under the rules and regulations
governing licensure examinations.
Registration for the issuance of Professional Identification Card (ID) and
Certificate of Registration will be scheduled after the oathtaking.
Oathtaking tickets are available at the Office of Professional Teachers, 3rd
Floor, PRC Annex Building for NCR and Region IV passers and for the passers
from the other regions at the PRC regional offices.
The top performing schools (with at least 50.00 percent passing percentage) in
the April 2008 Licensure Examination for Teachers classified as follows are:
Elementary level
Category A: With 10-99 examinees
1. Mindanao State University-Iligan Institute of Technology, 13 of 13 passed,
100.00%; 2. University of the PhilippinesDiliman, 13 of 14, 93.00%; 3. Saint
Louis University, 12 of 13, 92.00%.
Category B: With 100299 examinees
1. Benguet State University-La Trinidad, 55 of 107 passed, 51.00%.
Secondary level
Category A: With 10-99 examinees
1. De La Salle University-Manila, 14 of 14 passed, 100.00%; University of the
Philippines-Baguio City, 10 of 10, 100.00%; University of the Philippines-Los
Baños, 16 of 16, 100.00%; 2. University of Santo Tomas, 39 of 41, 95.00%;
University of the Philippines-Diliman, 38 of 40, 95.00%; 3. University of the
Philippines-VisayasCebu City, 14 of 15, 93.00%.
Category B: With 100299 examinees
1. Polytechnic University of the Philippines-Main Sta. Mesa, 91 of 144 passed,
63.00%
